Specimen Requirement

Fecal specimen is required.

Additional Specimen Collection Information

Collect a fresh 4-5 gram stool specimen (uncontiminated by urine) in a sterile container. Label the specimen appropriately with two identifiers, patient name and another identifier, (patient ID number, DOB, etc.) include date and time of collection. Transport the specimen to the laboratory as soon as possible after collection. The specimen may be refrigerated for up to 4 hours prior to analysis. Bring the specimen to room temperature prior to analysis.
